Last night was the opening reception for a show that I curated called SMARTSPACE II— an exhibition of work from Graduate and undergraduate artists from San Francisco State University’s Conceptual Information Arts (CIA) department. The show was organized to honor the legacy of Stephen Wilson’s teaching and reflect his outstanding influence on his students through art, science, technology, and his wisdom.

The show featured works by Crystal Allen, Robert Stone, Sarah Band, Nova Barton, Sean Bennett, Alexander Hinds, Jestin Korsgaard, Carlos Castellanos, Sarah Castle, Aaron Grobler, Martin Juarez, Colton Long, Michael Mosher, Patrick Boehner, Torrey Nommesen, Natasha Price, Jeff Ray, Charlemagne Charmaine, and Cassandra Sechler .

This piece that I screened was called Technophobia. It was specifically made as a video loop—an abstract assemblage of video footage taken from video tests from my current film Wireboy: a nightmarish look into technology, the future, and ourselves.

The event was definitely a success, and I can’t wait to continue curating various events for conceptual artists to gain exposure (as well as give Wireboy more and more exposure).
